16/10/2013: jEPlus has moved to a new home at www.jeplus.org !

07/06/2013: jEPlus version 1.4 is released. To download it, go to SourceForge. New features of v1.4 include:

  • Support combinatorial parameters, i.e. parameters containing two or more search strings and the corresponding value sets
  • Parameter definitions can be imported from and export to a CSV-styled text file, making the task of editing large number of parameters easier
  • Extracts simulation results from both ESO (using ReadVarsESO) and tabular (using SQLite, see video tutorial) outputs

  • Result files can be merged into a single table, and openned directly in the associated program for CSV (e.g. Microsoft Excel) from the GUI
  • Completely overhaul of the commandline interface to give you more controls over job execution
  • Various improvements to the GUI
  • Bug fixes

08/01/2013: Happy New Year! After a nice break, we are now back to work. We intend to extend the online simulation trial to the end of March. If you are interested and have not got your own JESS account, please send an email to jeplus.services@gmail.com. You may have noticed the JESS Client for DesignBuilder, with which DB users can send simulation jobs to our cluster. We will post another package for use with EP-Launch, shortly.

2012

03/12/2012: We are finally starting the online simulation trial. Registered users would have received an invitation to participate in this trial. From the JESS Client User Guide, you should get some ideas on how this “online simulation” works.

20/10/2012: Try jEPlus+EA! If you are already using jEPlus, the optimisation tool will work more or less out-of-the-box. Check out why and how here. To download the package, go to Get jEPlus+

09/09/2012: We will start inviting registered users to test our online simulation service (JESS - jEPlus Simulation Server) in October. If you are interested, Please first register your contact details on this site. We will then send invitations when the system is ready. Update: we are having issues with the latest E+ v7.2 being incompatible with our servers. Trial will start when we have these sorted. (20/10/2012) Update: Just a few more days… it is almost ready (21/11/2012)

28/08/2012: New video on how to use EP-Macro with jEPlus for defining model blocks as parameters.

06/08/2012: jEPlus v1.3 is available from sourceforge.net, now. Updated users guide can be found here: User's Manual. A nice feature added was throttling processor core deployment on the fly, thanks to Jamie Bull who made the request! Another improvement was on memory usage during validation. jEPlus can now live to tell how many jobs are there in the project, even if you put in many parameters. Update: if you have a really big project, the job counter will overflow, and you will see some strange numbers. This should not affect your simulations, though, assuming you are not trying to run them all ;-)

06/05/2012: jEPlus v1.3 beta is here. To try it, visit sourceforge.net. New features include:

  • jEPlus now supports TRNSYS parametrics!
  • Latin Hypercube Sampling (LHS) is implemented, supporting Gaussian, Uniform, Triangular and Discrete distributions.
  • Resource and progress monitor is shown when running simulation jobs. It helps users keep an eye on memory and disk space during large parametrics. The monitor also allows you to pause and resume a batch.
  • Various improvements to GUI.
  • Bug fixes.

28/04/2012: We are getting close to release jEPlus v1.3 for beta testing. The new version will support Latin Hypercube Sampling and TRNSYS parametrics.

30/01/2012: jEPlus+Net is available for download. Please register first.
